MASCARO WINS TWO CONTRACTS TOTALING $5.1 MILLION TO SERVE COMMUNITIES IN LACKAWANNA COUNTY

   J. P. Mascaro & Sons, local waste and recycling company has been awarded a pair of five-year contracts to service two communities in Lackawanna County. The contract covers removal of waste and recyclables for all the residents of South Abington Township and Newton Township at a combined cost of $5.1 million on a 5-year basis.

Both Township’s will be serviced by J.P. Mascaro's Wyoming Valley division, which employs about 120 personnel. This facility is the base operation for 50 collection vehicles, which serve seven counties, such as Carbon, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Monroe, Columbia, Wayne, and Pike counties. Thirty-nine local municipalities, along with ten school districts benefit from well-organized daily collection services.

    The J. P. Mascaro & Sons Company possesses a strategic infrastructure of recycling, transfer, compost and disposal facilities in the local region that has enabled them to be the major provider of municipal services in the area.
